Tucked away in the middle of Main Street is an art house worth exploring. TheatresCool is an intimate venue with comfortable seating (recliners and sofas), basic lighting and a simple stage.

TheatresCool is the only professional training ground in Central Illinois that offers training in "the method," an acting philosophy and practice utilized by Brando, Di Niro and countless others, which encourages the actor to draw on personal experiences, memories and emotions to bring a character to life.

Founded by Artistic Director Kymberly Harris who earned an MA from Illinois State University and a double MFA in acting and playwriting from The Actors Studio Drama School, TheatresCool offers a nurturing teaching environment with high creative standards of performance and learning.

Whether you are seeking a professional acting career or looking to broaden your horizons as a creative person, classes at TheatresCool, available for all ages, seek to enhance an individual's acting skills, creativity, literacy, self-confidence, self-esteem, and self-expression.

In celebration of self-expression and diversity, TheatresCool also hosts evenings which showcase other talents, like an occasional open mic night of beat poetry or a live performance by the up and coming indie band "Oh, Alchemy."
